When making the Terra models, hickory is used closer to the center of the tree. This has a different density and is more compact than the outer layer that Vic Firth normally uses for his drumsticks.
The result of using this part of the tree is a drumstick with a different playing feel, a different rebound and a different touch. More compact feel with a livelier bounce.
The models are otherwise completely according to the same specifications as usual in the American Classic series.

By using his patented staining process, Vic Firth brings out the grain in the hickory in a completely unique way where the pattern and look from log to log are not the same.

The Terra series is made from American Hickory and is crafted in our Newport, Maine factory with the customary precision and meticulous controls.
The pickling method provides a soft and smooth surface with a secure grip and a natural playing feel.
