The AF95 is one of the models in Ibanez's Artcore Expressionist series, guitars that are fully optimized to suit jazz guitarists. Factory-fitted polished D'Addario Jazz strings, medium narrow frets, and a traditional look.
The guitar has a 3-piece Expressionist Nyatoh/Maple set-in (glued into the body) neck, a medium thick neck with a round, C-shaped profile. Perfect for both solo and chord playing. The neck meets the body at the 14th fret. The fingerboard is a bound ebony fingerboard with traditional acrylic block inlays and binding.
The body is completely hollow (no center block), 70mm thick at the string holder attachment and is constructed of spruce on the top, sides, and back.
A construction that provides a warm and lively sound with good separation.
The pickups are Ibanez Super 58, a pickup that combines a soft and nuanced tone with the ability to bite when needed. Works equally well for clean and traditional jazz sounds as well as overdriven blues and rock sounds.
The pickups are connected to a 3-position toggle switch and have separate volume and tone controls for each pickup.
