The Epiphone J-45 Studio EC is part of the all-new Epiphone Studio Acoustic Collection. These guitars combine classic design with modern functionality, appealing to both beginners and seasoned players. Based on the classic Gibson J-45 “The Workhorse,” the Studio EC features a cutaway sloped shoulder body with a 24.75” scale length for easy access to upper frets. It delivers a warm, rich tone with excellent clarity, ideal for a wide range of musical styles.
The guitar features a layered mahogany cutaway body with four-ply ivory and black binding on the top, single-ply ivory binding on the back, and a solid spruce top for responsive, balanced tone. The mahogany neck has a Rounded C profile for comfortable playability and is joined to the body with a glued-in tapered dovetail joint. The neck is topped with a bound rosewood fretboard with 20 standard frets and pearloid dot inlays. Strings pass over a compensated plastic saddle and anchor to a belly-up rosewood bridge with ivory bridge pins.
Additional vintage-style details include a teardrop-shaped dark tortoise shell pickguard, three-on-a-plate tuners with ivory buttons, and a 60s Kalamazoo-style headstock with the Epiphone logo in gold silkscreen. The guitar is equipped with Fishman™ electronics: an S-Core under-saddle pickup and Fishman Presys II preamp with side-mounted volume, bass, treble, and phase controls, as well as a built-in electronic tuner.
Finish and Colors: Gloss finish, available in Natural and Vintage Sunburst. Both right and left-handed versions are available. A standard gig bag is included.
