Aune AR5000 MK2

The Aune AR5000 MK2 are full-size open-back over-ear headphones that build on the original AR5000 with refinements to the driver and acoustic architecture. The updated design delivers extended high frequencies, deeper bass and a smooth transition across the frequency range, resulting in natural, balanced and detailed sound reproduction with very low distortion.

At the core is a 50 mm dynamic driver featuring Aune's Multi-Layer Distributed (MLD) diaphragm. Its combination of stiffness and damping helps reduce diaphragm breakup. For the MK2, the diaphragm material and surface treatment have been optimised for clearer, more extended high frequencies and natural airiness. An updated airflow and magnet system further improves diaphragm linearity and excursion, supporting deeper, fuller bass while retaining speed and definition.

The angled driver panel and tilted earpads create a spacious soundstage with a clear sense of depth and height, alongside precise instrument and vocal positioning. With a nominal impedance of 28 ohms and a sensitivity of 112 dB SPL, the headphones are easy to drive from smartphones, computers and portable DACs, while also benefiting from higher-quality desktop audio equipment.

Comfort is supported by breathable acoustic memory foam earpads that fully surround the ears, a fully metal adjustable headband and a lightweight construction. The included 1.5 m OFC cable features interchangeable connectors for 3.5 mm and 6.35 mm single-ended connections and 4.4 mm balanced operation.
