Zildjian - Genuine Turkish Cymbals Made In USA
All companies have their history, Zildjian's started in 1623. Zildjian is Armenian and means "Cymbal Maker".
The name was given in the 17th century to the alchemist Avedis from Constantinople. During one of his attempts to produce gold artificially, he had mixed together an alloy of copper, tin and silver. He never got any gold, but Avedis discovered that the alloy had fantastic sound properties. He decided to change tack and started making cymbals. Avedis had much greater success with his new business than with alchemy. His cymbals spread far beyond Constantinople and he passed down the formula for the unique copper, tin and silver alloy to his children who kept the business within the family.
