Warm Audio JUDE-MP

The Warm Audio Jude-MP is a single-channel console microphone preamp created in official collaboration with Sound Techniques. It recreates the original A-Range preamp circuit used in the legendary Trident Studios consoles, bringing its distinctive British console character to modern recording setups.

Developed from original schematics by Sound Techniques engineer Geoff Frost, the Jude-MP preserves the discrete signal path of the original design, including a dual-discrete 3035 Class-A amplifier and custom-wound CineMag USA transformers. Audio-grade Wima and Nichicon capacitors, carbon resistors and a carefully hand-wired layout complete the console-inspired design.

The 9-position Z-Match impedance control is derived directly from the original Sound Techniques circuit and allows the input impedance to be optimized for different microphones. By changing the interaction between microphone and preamp, it provides a wide range of gain, response and tonal character.

Variable microphone input impedance settings of 60 Ω, 200 Ω and 1.5 kΩ combine with up to 76 dB of preamp gain for flexible recording applications. Additional controls include 48V phantom power, polarity switching and a line-level input mode, while the VU meter provides clear level indication.
