AC4HWR1 Hand-Wire Combo
The Hand-Wired series is a tribute to Vox's own classic history. The series has been developed by carefully studying and researching the tone and construction of the now more legendary models from the 60s. Specially designed transformers, updated circuit board design are some of the steps taken to recreate the classic AC sound including the Top Boost channel while adding features for the modern guitarist such as spring reverb and effects loop. Vox AC4WHWR1 is 4 watts and is equipped with 2 pcs. ECC83 preamp tubes, 1 pc. EL84 output stage and a Celestion 12” Greenback G12M speaker element.

The specially designed transformers provide the natural compression tonal characteristics associated with vintage amplifiers while balancing the natural “ghost notes” that often occur in older AC models without losing the AC character.

In designing the new Hand-Wired series, they even took a closer look at the construction of the chassis itself. This has resulted in a chassis built from a slightly thinner laminate, which gives a clearer and wider midrange.
