Tone Shaping and Max Compression

The dual Tone Shaping Preamps feature three selectable modes: Warmth, Focus, andShine. Combined with six Max compression presets, they provide 18 different sonic combinations for shaping recordings directly at the source. Max Compression is modeled on classic LA-2A and 1176 studio compressors and is designed for vocals, acoustic instruments, electric bass, and more.

Smart Display, Auto-Gain and Clip Protection

The full-color Smart Display provides immediate visual information about input levels, gain reduction, and system settings. Auto-Gain automatically calculates an optimal level, while Clip Protection helps protect recordings against sudden level increases and digitalclipping.

Digital Expansion and Flexible Connectivity

The optical ADAT input allows the system to be expanded with up to eight additionalchannels. ADAT supports 8 channels at 48 kHz, 4 channels at 96 kHz, and 2 channels at192 kHz. The optical input also supports 2-channel S/PDIF. MIDI I/O and the built-in USB hub provide connectivity for external controllers and peripherals.

Talkback, Headphone Outputs and Loopback

The built-in Talkback microphone facilitates control-room communication. Two headphone outputs allow both artist and producer to monitor audio. The Loopback function can combine computer audio with live inputs for streaming and podcast production.

UAD Software and LUNA

Volt 2 Max includes 15+ UAD plug-ins and virtual instruments together with UniversalAudio's LUNA Digital Audio Workstation.
