Two Notes Torpedo Captor X PRO

Two notes Captor X Pro is a professional digital load box and amplifier control system developed in partnership with Ampete Engineering. It combines multi-impedance load handling, programmable passive attenuation, embedded Torpedo processing, cabinet simulation, effects, routing, and direct monitoring in a single unit.

The fully reimagined load design supports 4, 8, and 16 ohm amplifiers with up to 150 W power handling. Three selectable load voicings provide two reactive responses and one resistive response: Reactive – Natural for a speaker-like load response, Reactive – Presence for enhanced top-end definition, and Resistive for a flatter impedance curve and warmer tonal character.

A programmable passive attenuator provides 13 attenuation levels plus mute and full speaker level. Combined with the selectable load voicings, this allows precise control over amplifier volume, feel, resonance, and attack while retaining the character of the connected amplifier.

Captor X Pro features a True Stereo DynIR engine with stereo and dual-mono operation, dual-microphone or static IR configurations, independent microphone positioning, and customizable post-FX chains. The system includes 24 DynIR virtual cabinets, with 8 microphone models and 12 studio-grade room simulations per cabinet, along with 128 preset slots and a Virtual Load Shaper for further control of the processed direct tone.

Extensive connectivity includes balanced stereo XLR Line/DI outputs, headphone monitoring, mono pre-FX and stereo post-FX loops, MIDI, USB-C, and a line input. The pre-FX return can also accept external preamps and modelers, while the pre-FX send can be used as an unprocessed amplifier DI signal.
