FetHead Broadcast – Microphone Preamp for Live and Broadcast Applications

FetHead Broadcast is a high-quality microphone preamplifier designed for live performances and broadcast applications in collaboration with Dutch broadcasting and facility service company United4all. Based on technology used in the FetHead, it provides 25 dB of low-noise amplification for a clear, high-quality microphone signal.

The preamp uses a Class A JFET gain stage followed by a low-impedance output buffer, enabling signal transmission over long cables of up to 3,000 metres. By amplifying the microphone signal before it travels through the cable, FetHead Broadcast improves the signal-to-noise ratio and helps reduce interference from nearby power and dimmer cables.

FetHead Broadcast works with both dynamic and condenser microphones. It passes 48 V phantom power through to the microphone and requires neither a mains power supply nor batteries.
