A Spector bass in the hands of Rex Brown is one of the heaviest sounds you can produce. Since the ’80s, this legend has been one of the cornerstones of Pantera’s heavy sound and fantastic groove. Spector has been his instrument of choice over the years, and here, through carefully selected woods, exquisite craftsmanship, and quality, they’ve created a powerful, tour-ready bass with a clear attack, a leaden low end, and a distinct midrange.

A flamed maple top gives it the classic Spector look, while Empresswood (also known as Emperor Wood) in the body reduces the weight and makes the instrument comfortable even during long, sweaty gigs. The 3-piece maple neck, combined with an Indian rosewood fingerboard, gives you an incredibly stable neck with balanced tone across the entire range.

The bass is equipped with EMG PJ X pickups and Spector’s TonePump preamp, delivering a responsive and articulate sound with a strong low end and a clear, musical midrange. An easily accessible trim pot on the back makes it simple to fine-tune the output level as needed.

The Desert Gold finish is inspired by the color palette of the New Mexico landscape, where Rex Brown calls home. Smoke crown inlays, gold hardware, Spector’s script logo, and Rex Brown’s own logo on the back of the headstock complete a look that reflects his personal style and long legacy on stage and in the studio.
