Sonnet Twin25G T5

The Sonnet Twin25G T5 Thunderbolt 5 Adapter provides dual-port 25GbE fiber connectivity for computers without PCIe slots. It is designed for post-production and other bandwidth-intensive workflows that have outgrown 10GbE, while remaining compatible with existing 10GbE infrastructure.

The adapter connects to computers through Thunderbolt 5, Thunderbolt 4, or USB4 and includes two 25GBASE-SR SFP28 transceivers. It supports Apple M series Macs, Intel Macs with Thunderbolt 3, and compatible Windows and Linux computers.

Twin25G T5 uses an intelligent controller with onboard processing and memory to handle TX/RX data with minimal host CPU load. TX checksums are calculated during transmission, while RX checksums are verified before data is passed directly to main memory, helping minimize latency and packet drops.

The compact enclosure uses a temperature-controlled variable-speed fan for cooling while keeping operating noise low. One Thunderbolt 5 port connects to the computer, while the second provides 15 W for an additional Thunderbolt or USB peripheral and supports connection of a compatible display.
