With PRESS, Polyend presents a fully analog Stereo compressor for Live acts and producers with a focus on Hardware. The compact and robust device offers the crisp, natural response of classic analog rack devices and at the same time has functions that are rarely found even in current studio devices. In addition to standard parameters such as attack, release, threshold, ratio and make-up gain, PRESS has a special tilt EQ that adds highs and cuts lows to the wet signal, making the compressed signal even more versatile. However, the highlight is probably the parallel compression, which creates a mix of the processed and unprocessed signal. Thanks to the sidechain input, PRESS is able to trigger the compression process with a separately fed kick drum, for example. The sound spectrum of the sidechain signal can be shaped with a two-band filter. Press has a genuine stereo signal path, the inputs and outputs are equipped with stereo jack sockets. The signal path can be switched to mono using a toggle switch. This gives you the freedom to choose whether to use PRESS at the stereo output of a groovebox, at the channel or bus insert of a mixer or at the end of a signal chain. The sound of the desktop compressor is reminiscent of the DBX 1066 without copying it exactly. Flattening and compressing works just as well as subtle attenuation and better control of transients.
