NS Design NXT5aF-VN-SB

NXT5aF-VN-SB. 5-string fretted electric violin, Satin Sunburst. Designed by Ned Steinberger.

This type of instrument is ideal for the modern violinist who is looking for new ways to express themselves, but still has high demands on both sound and playability. NXT instruments are largely identical to the exclusive instruments in the CR series, but at prices everyone can afford.
The new NXTa series, Electric Violin Series, with new active output electronics, includes 4- and 5-string violins, as well as banded versions, all with physical elegance, incredible lightness, and fantastic tone.

FEATURES
Using adjustment screws, the maple shoulder rest can be easily adjusted to the desired action height, high and powerful, low and fast, or anywhere in between.
An adjustable ebony chin rest is standard. Also suitable for those who want a more comprehensive range of adjustments for fit and comfort.
The Standard Custom Shoulder Rest is highly adjustable, and its base can be easily shaped to fit the chest and shoulder perfectly.
The patented tuning system is built into the bottom of the body and allows for quick, easy, and precise adjustment, exceptional tuning stability, and easy string changes.
At the heart of the NXTa is a Polar? Pickup System, whose piezo components convert string vibration directly into signal output. This provides balanced, tonally rich reproduction of tone
and offers a wide range of expressive possibilities. Arco and Pizzicato have significantly different vibration characteristics, and the Polar Pickup system faithfully captures both.
Dual Mode Output - The new dual-signal output electronics in the NXTa take the convenience, versatility, and performance of the NXT to another level.
Active Mode - Use the included charger and plug the NXTa into a wall outlet for 60 seconds to charge the capacitor-driven active circuit for up to 16 hours of playing time.
The instrument can then be plugged directly into any low or high impedance input, no DI box required. Since there is no signal loss across the instrument's entire frequency spectrum, every note is clear and strong, even with extra-long cables.
Passive mode - The NXTa can be played in this mode when using a DI box or an amplifier with a high impedance input. (This mode provides performance capabilities identical to the original NXT.)
NXTa instruments are battery-free, eliminating the hassle and expense of batteries while protecting our environment.
