Simple & convenient X-hat for those who want to easily add an extra hi-hat to their drum kit or percussion rig.
An X-hat is a hi-hat where you don't have a pedal to adjust the overlap; instead, it has a fixed position and you place it somewhere in the drum kit. You can put a pair of hi-hat cymbals on this if you want an extra hi-hat to add more sound to your playing, if you play with a double pedal and want a closed or half-open hi-hat when you use both feet for bass drumming or for an effect hi-hat or stack.
The Mapex CH72 is mounted on a tom arm, so you can easily adjust it with the ball joint, giving you fantastic opportunities to find the ultimate angle for your hi-hat.
You attach the CH72 to one of your existing stands or to your drum rack with a multi-clamp (not included).
If you have a double tom holder mounted in the bass drum of your kit, you can put it on that rod if you want. You can also skip the tom arm and mount a fat multi-clamp directly to the upper part of the CH72 if you prefer.
The model has a standard hi-hat clutch, so you can freely adjust how much you want it to be closed or open.
