Using capture and AI Machine Modeling technology, the pedal delivers classic guitar sounds from some of the most iconic albums in rock history.

In the late 70s, a young guitarist changed rock music forever when he stepped into Sunset Sound Studios in 1978 and created the sound that became known as the "Brown Sound" – a tone that has inspired generations of guitarists around the world.

IK Multimedia has, in close collaboration with Jim Gaustad (a leading expert on Brown Sound), developed a complete and exclusive collection of Brown Sound captures for Tonex, Tonex Pedal and Tonex One, the Brown Sound Signature Collections. In Tonex One Brown Sound you will find 20 Tone Model captures from this unique Brown Sound collection right from the start, 

This collection is divided into three different eras in the golden era of the Flying Dutchman. Brown Sound 78/79 captures the first two albums. Brown Sound 80/81 refers to the two albums released in 1980 and 1981 which have a harder and more direct tone. The third pack in the collection, Brown Sound 82/84 has the sound from the last two albums from that era, the latter of which became the band's biggest album success. Regardless of the era, each of these packs contains 50 different Tone Model captures that were created based on the amplifier, speaker, miking and e.g. how the tone was controlled by adjusting the voltage etc. No detail has been overlooked when creating these Brown Sound captures.

The Tonex Brown Sound Limited Edition contains 20 of these legendary sounds in an ultra-compact pedal, ready for stage, studio and home use. With each pedal in the Brown Sound series, Tonex software and the Brown Sound 78/79 pack are included, you can also download another pack of your choice from the Brown Sound Collection for free, Brown Sound 80/81 or Brown Sound 82/84 (total value approx. 2000:-). With the Tonex Editor you then choose which Brown Sound sounds or other Tone Models you want to load into your Tonex One pedal. 

In addition to the amp sound itself, the Tonex One Brown Sound has an advanced effects section consisting of EQ, delay, modulation effects, reverb and noise gate, the Tonex One also has a tuner function. With the two different user modes Stomp and Dual you can choose a preset that you switch on and off, just like a regular effects pedal, but it is also possible to switch between two different presets, one for accompaniment and one for solo.

The combined mono and stereo output (TRS) makes it possible to connect the Tonex pedal to an amplifier in mono as usual, but it is also possible to connect to two amplifiers or to a mixing console in stereo with a TRS cable. It is even possible to connect a pair of headphones directly to the Tonex One. The USB-C connection makes it possible to connect to the Tonex software and Tonex editor for editing and managing internal and external Tone Model captures and to use the Tonex One as a sound card for direct recording. Via these programs it is also possible to connect to Tone.Net, a user platform where there are currently over 50,000 captures of various kinds. Everything from clear vintage sounds to hard heavy metal sounds with or without speaker simulation. There are also Tone Models of e.g. dist, OD, and boost pedals and a large number of bass amplifiers. As an extra bonus, Amplitube 5 SE is also included.
