SRMS is a series of SR basses equipped with fanned frets, which is a method of being able to have different scales on different strings, so-called multi-scale fingerboard.
This is done, among other things, to get optimal scale length for all strings.
Low strings sound significantly better, firmer, tighter and more stunning, with a longer scale while the thin strings become hard, plonk and very difficult to play with as long a scale as the low strings need. Fanned frets, multi-scale, are the solution to this, tight and stable low tones and highs with maintained snap and warmth.

SRMS805 is an instrument that is part of the Ibanez Bass Workshop series.

The bass is equipped with a further developed version of the Ibanez mono-rail bridge, now called MR5S (previous version called IV). The bridge is developed to allow a greater range of intonation possibilities than the previous version IV had). Also greater adjustment possibilities of the bass setup in general.
All this while it has become considerably easier to handle.
Mono rail also has the advantage of isolating the vibrations of the strings from each other, which gives cleaner tones with longer sustain.

The basis is based on the Ibanez SR bass, probably the bass model most people think of when someone says ?Ibanez bass?. SR has been the market leading model among ?small body? basses (basses with smaller, slimmer, bodies) in the world for over 30 years. They are lightweight, easy-to-play basses that are extremely comfortable to wear and play, perfect for people who play a lot or for long sessions.
