The AEWC borrows its body shape from the immensely popular Exotic Wood (AEW) series, in a slightly more compact format, with a comfortable body shape and a gently rounded cutaway that makes the highest frets easy to access.
The guitar has a relatively rich acoustic tone but is primarily intended for those who mostly play amplified, in the studio, through a PA or an acoustic amplifier. Equipped with a Fishman® S-Core™ pickup and Ibanez's excellent AEQ-SP2 preamp, it will deliver a nice and malleable electro-acoustic sound no matter what you plug it into. A guitar that feels welcoming to both electric guitarists and traditional acoustic players, whether you play with a pick or your fingers.
