For this purpose, we sought to create something entirely new: a series of instruments imbued with old-fashioned, handcrafted, and rare qualities.

In these instruments, we use the highest-quality woods and design them with uncompromising attention to detail, representing the pinnacle of Ibanez acoustic guitar design and tone.

The body shape is designed to achieve high playability combined with a well-balanced and resonant sound that “sits” equally well in the studio and on stage, whether playing solo or in an ensemble. A specially designed X-M bracing provides a wide sound and excellent projection (how the instrument projects the sound). A rich and long sustain that works well for both pick and fingerstyle playing.

The AAM50 features our new A.I.R. Port design. Acoustic - Information - Response
The A.I.R. Port is designed for better monitor sound for the guitarist. A hole in the side facing you. It’s a fantastic feature. A clear trend among acoustic guitars, but no major manufacturer offers it at an affordable price point. Plus, what the others have is basically just a hole drilled in the body.
Ibanez believed there had to be a better way to achieve better monitor sound.
After testing many different sizes and types of holes and designs, they settled on the perfect sound port design: placing angled wooden blocks that direct the sound out of the port. They also decided to apply it to a wide range of models.

The body features a solid Sitka spruce top with sapele back and sides.
