Sound Performance

The GS1000 is equipped with Grado’s 50 mm X2 dynamic drivers featuring a Mylar diaphragm, copper voice coil, and a magnetic system optimized for efficiency and dynamic control. The larger diaphragm surface area allows the headphones to move more air, resulting in deeper bass response, improved dynamic range, and a more relaxed presentation.

The sound signature is open and natural, offering excellent instrument separation and a strong sense of space. Recordings are reproduced with impressive width, depth, and precision while maintaining focus and coherence.

Design and Comfort

The GS1000 features Grado’s Signature Gold headband, the most advanced headband design in the Classic Series. Combining aluminum and stainless steel components, it provides excellent stability, durability, and an accurate fit.

The genuine leather strap enhances comfort during extended listening sessions, while the integrated spring-band system allows for easy adjustment of clamping force to achieve an optimal fit.

G Cushions and Soundstage

The included G Cushions are the largest ear pads in Grado’s lineup and position the drivers farther from the ears. This creates a wider and more three-dimensional soundstage with increased openness and air.

The cushions also function as a tuning element and can be replaced with other pad models to alter both sound characteristics and comfort.

Mahogany Construction

The GS1000 features a fully mahogany housing, a material long associated with Grado’s signature sound. The wood contributes warmth, tonal richness, and natural resonance control.

The result is an organic and cohesive presentation that combines large-scale sound reproduction with musical precision.
