The Gibson LG-2 50s Original is a small-body acoustic guitar with a rich, balanced tone. Inspired by 1950s-era LG-2 models, it features solid mahogany back and sides and a solid Sitka spruce top with traditional scalloped X-bracing. The smaller body is easier to hold than larger models and provides an alternative acoustic voice for recording.

The mahogany neck features a Historic V profile and is attached with a compound dovetail neck-to-body joint using hot hide glue. The unbound rosewood fingerboard has20 standard frets with mother-of-pearl dot inlays. The guitar features a slopedrectangular rosewood bridge with a closed-slot design, bone nut and saddle, and TUSQ bridge pins. Grover Strap tuners with cream buttons and a tortoise teardrop pickguardcomplement the vintage-inspired design.

Baggs HiFi DNA Pickup System
The Gibson-exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA system uses two lightweight, larger, flexible and omnidirectional sensors mounted on the internal bridge plate. Each sensor has its own dedicated custom-voiced Class A studio-quality preamp. The sensors are blended foroptimized output, capturing string detail, body resonance, the guitar's natural voice anddynamic range.

HiFi DNA preserves the guitar's dynamic range from light fingerstyle to heavystrumming and provides a more detailed representation of the guitar's character, warmth and response when amplified. The system offers comparable gain-before-feedback to under-saddle pickup systems and features easily accessible soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls.
