The Gibson J-45 Standard is an iconic acoustic guitar and Gibson's best-selling acoustic model of all time. Introduced in 1942 and known as "The Workhorse", the J-45 has become a cornerstone of Gibson's round-shoulder dreadnought line. It is renownedfor its full, balanced expression, warm bass and excellent projection.

This left-handed J-45 Standard features a round-shoulder dreadnought body with solidmahogany back and sides and a solid Sitka spruce top. Traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing supports the top. The body features multi-ply binding on the top and single-ply binding on the back, while the gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish completes the classic appearance.

The mahogany neck has a fast and comfortable SlimTaper profile and is secured with acompound dovetail neck-to-body joint. The rosewood fingerboard features 20 standard frets and mother-of-pearl dot inlays. The headstock features the Gibson logo in mother of pearl and Grover Rotomatic tuning machines with Kidney Buttons. Combined with theTUSQ nut, these provide smooth and stable tuning.

The traditional rosewood belly-up bridge features a TUSQ saddle and bridge pins. A tear drop pickguard completes the familiar J-45 aesthetic.

The guitar is equipped with the Gibson-exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA pickup and preamp system. The system uses two lightweight sensors mounted on the internal bridge plate, with each sensor employing its own dedicated custom-voiced Class A preamp. Thesensors are blended together for optimized output while capturing string detail, bodyresonance, dynamic range and the natural character of the guitar.

The Baggs HiFi DNA system features soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls forquick and easy access while playing. The system delivers a highly detailed amplified acoustic tone with gain-before-feedback comparable to under-saddle pickup systems. The guitar comes with a Gibson Hardshell Case and is equipped for stage, studio andrehearsal use.
