The EMG P81 is based on the legendary EMG 81 design, re-engineered in a P90-style housing for players who want aggressive modern tone in a more traditional format. It delivers tight response, strong output, and exceptional clarity.

Using powerful ceramic magnets and close-aperture coils, the P81 produces a focused sound with detailed high-end cut, articulate mids, and smooth sustain. It is designed to cut through dense mixes with ease, making it ideal for lead playing and heavy rhythm work.

Typically used in the bridge position, the P81 excels in high-gain environments while maintaining note definition and precision. It can also be paired with other EMG pickups such as the P85 or P60 for versatile tonal combinations.

EMG’s solderless installation system allows for quick and simple pickup swaps without the need for soldering.
