Electro-Harmonix Bender Royale Germanium Fuzz Black

Bender Royal is a fuzz pedal that is based on the classic Germaninum circuits but provides additional possibilities for shaping your sound.

The classic controls are of course in place, Volume, Fuzz and Bass which is a passive tone control that can give you the muddy, fuzzy bass register to a tight bass with a kick. With these settings alone, you will go a long way in the search for your own unique Fuzz sound for accompaniment or solo playing, Royal Germanium Fuzz takes it a little longer, however.

The Fat switch adds additional bass and a low midrange to boost and make your tone even fatter, and the Clip switch lets you change the character of how the tone "cuts" and thus changes the character of the fuzz effect itself from Germanium to LED Fuzz, which gives a rawer tone reminiscent of the very earliest fuzz pedals. The Bias control controls the current to the fuzz circuits and takes you from a soft, compliant fuzz effect to an overdrive that almost screams. To control the treble, Electro Harmonix has chosen to use an active Treble control that reins in or releases the high registers, all according to your taste or preference. If you want to combine the Bender Royale with other distortion or fuzz boxes or want more of the direct signal, the Blend control helps set the level between the fuzz and direct signal. 

If you want to turn the fuzz on and off in the traditional way, use the switch as usual. If you only want to apply the effect temporarily, hold the switch down for about half a second and the effect will only be activated when the switch is pressed, perfect for adding fuzz to single notes or short riffs. A 9-volt battery is included, but you can also use the Bender Royale with an external power supply.
