The EarthQuaker Devices ZEQD-Pre is a fully analog tube preamp and booster pedal developed in collaboration with Dr. Z Amplification, bringing the warmth, dynamic response, and touch sensitivity of real tube circuitry to your pedalboard. Driven by a genuine EF86 pentode tube — the same type used in boutique tube amps — this preamp pedal adds harmonic richness, clarity, and organic feel to guitars, bass, synths, keyboards, drums, microphones, and more.

Positioned at the end of your signal chain, the ZEQD-Pre offers intuitive, hands-on control with a passive 3-band EQ, a dedicated Boost footswitch that bypasses the EQ for a full-range boost, and a cab simulation that can be switched on or off. With professional connectivity including a balanced XLR direct output with ground lift and a headphone output for quiet practice or monitoring, it’s ideal for recording, live performance, hybrid rigs, or silent stages.
