Audac MTX88

The Audac MTX88 is a preamp/audio matrix with eight independent output zones. Each zone features volume control, a two-band EQ, and selectable inputs.

It offers a total of two balanced mic inputs with individual gain, a 3-band EQ, and support for 15V phantom power and priority. (However, Ch1 has priority over Ch2.) In addition to these, the MTX88 also has four line inputs with individual gain. These six inputs can be freely assigned to any of the output zones, one input at a time (they cannot be mixed). For mixing multiple audio sources to a single output, see the LUNA-F or LUNA-U.

In addition, the MWX65 wall panel with two audio inputs (line and mic) can be connected, one to each output zone. However, the audio signal connected via the MWX65 wall panel is only available on the zone where the wall panel is connected.

Each output can be individually selected between stereo or mono, for low-impedance or 100V applications. Built-in monitor speaker on the front, option for 24V DC operation.

A MUTE function, with a separate connector on the back of the MTX, can mute all inputs on the MTX except those set to priority via the web interface, which is very useful when fire alarms or other priority systems need to be heard.

In the event of an alarm, you can short-circuit the two terminals of the MUTE connector to mute the standard input sources on the MTX; an alarm signal is then routed through Mic1/Mic2, which has been selected as the priority input. When the alarm is turned off and the short-circuit between the terminals of the MUTE connector is removed, the MTX returns to normal playback mode. Using the Mute function requires no settings at all; simply short-circuit the two terminals in the MUTE connector.
