FiiO FD3 continues in the direction of its FD line siblings in using the flagship grade 12mm dynamic driver. The inside of the FD3 shell is embedded with a driver with a robust magnet of 1.5 Tesla magnetic flux, paired with an ultra-fine copper-clad aluminium Japanese Daikoku voice coil for accurate sound reproduction.
MODERN DLC DIAPHRAGM AND ACOUSTIC PRISM SYSTEM FOR LOW DISTORTION AND CLARITY
Flag-ship grade components have been used in the design of the FiiO FD3. The diaphragm is made of diamond-like carbon (DLC) which is rigid and surprisingly light. This design decision makes the FD3 comfortable to wear and also reduce unwanted distortion having a tremendous transient response. The FD3 are further enhanced with the acoustic prism system which brings numerous benefits such as eliminating high frequency standing waves, enhancing overall sound wave diffusion and even effectively solving the problem of time delay caused by sound wave propagation path in the cavity. This all leads to amazing sound quality.
INDUSTRIAL GRADE ALUMINUM - MAGNESIUM ALLOY BODY FUSED WITH A SEMI-OPEN DESIGN
High quality craftsmanship is the primary goal at FiiO and this is reflected in the FD3 unmistakably. The main body is made of aluminium-magnesium alloy in an industrial process combining five-axis CNC processing and hand polishing. This makes the body durable and super elegant to look at. The FD3 features a semi-open design that is based on the company’s patented technology for balanced air pressure. This semi-open design provides a natural sound and also effectively protects your hearing by balancing air pressure within the body and leads to less pressure on your eardrums. This enhances the listening experience tenfold, making the sound less forced.
PERFECT BALANCE BETWEEN FORM AND FUNCTION
The look of the FiiO FD3 is based on the theme of curves and is simple yet has a beautiful appearance. This is visible in the unique celluloid panel which is covered with 2.5D film coating glass for a Pure transparent look. The FD3 also features interchangeable sound tunes for customising the frequency response of the earphone. How this works is, while the outer diameter of the sound tubes is the same, the inner diameter differs for each sound tube. The large inner diameter tube (black) produces detailed treble, and the small inner diameter tube (red) gives robustness. This is a truly unique approach and is the perfect balance of form and function.
CAREFULLY SELECTED MMCX CONNECTOR WITH HI-RES AUDIO CERTIFICATION
FiiO FD3 comes with a carefully designed cable that truly enhances the user experience. The cable features an MMCX connector for easier connectivity and is reinforced with 4 strands of high-purity monocrystalline copper. This reproduces music vividly and with superior clarity. The FD3 is a Hi-Res Audio certified earphone and capable of reproducing delicate details and is a treat to listen to.
